Abstract:
STEM education needs to center issues of environmental and social justice if it means to solve the world’s increasingly complex environmental and social problems. Instructors of STEM communication can help normalize social and environmental justice themes by creating space in their courses for alternative ways of thinking and doing. This workshop offers participants tools and strategies for incorporating sustainability and environmental ethics, bio-racial rhetorics, disability, and language instruction into their instruction.
