James Lyons, ’10 currently works at the New York law firm Kaye Scholer, LLP, serving as an Associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, specializing in a range of intellectual property issues across a variety of industries. He graduated from the University of Maine with a BA in Political Science and a BS in Biochemistry in 2010. He went on to study at Columbia Law School (JD, 2013) and was awarded the 2013 Edwin Parker Prize, given annually to students who excel in the study of international or comparative law. While at UMaine, James interned for the United States Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship in Washington, DC, served as Vice President and President of University of Maine Student Government, Inc., and worked as a Constituency, Planning, and Training Unit Assistant at the Maine Department of Environmental Protection. At Columbia Law School, James worked as a research assistant under Professor Abbe Gluck.
