Professor Emerita Amy Fried Named NEPSA President

Professor Emerita of Political Science Amy Fried has been named as the 77th President of the New England Political Science Association (NEPSA).  According to the NEPSA website, “Founded in 1949, the New England Political Science Association is the oldest regional political science organization in the Northeast. 

NEPSA seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge among persons interested in political science; to encourage research on political matters; to improve the teaching of political science; and to advance generally the practices and art of politics and governance.”  NEPSA publishes the New England Journal of Political Science and holds an annual conference that rotates among host cities in New England.  Professor Fried is the third NEPSA president from UMaine, joining Professor Eugene Mawhinney (1975-76) and Professor Matthew Moen (2004-05).  Congratulations to Professor Fried.
