Poetry and Poetics Conferences

The Center (under our previous name the National Poetry Foundation) has been host to many summer conferences on poetry and poetics. As with Paideuma, the original focus of these gatherings was Ezra Pound, but this quickly broadened to include Pound’s contemporaries. Starting in 1993, conferences shifted from focusing on a single figure (or two) to examining an entire decade of twentieth-century poetry.

Our conferences have always included both poets and scholars of poetry, academic panels and keynotes as well as poetry readings and performances.
