Marek Veal, UMaine Nursing student video – transcript

Marek Veal: In high school I participated in a CNA course and from there is when I sort of just immediately fell in love. I knew that I wanted to do something in health care, and with CNA you can only do so much, and I am a more little hands-on person and I like to be able to do the best that I can and provide to the maximum effort and I just was stuck on nursing. For me, to attend the University of Maine was sort of a easier decision just because the university is a little bit larger than any other program that is offered in the state of Maine and the resources that are offered you get exposure to more professors the more instructors and the more nurses that have worked in different areas in the field. Therefore, you hear different stories, they offer you different tips, different tricks that you can use to ensure better and most importantly safer patient-centered care.

Thank you.
