UMaine Hosts High School Entrepreneurship Competition

UMaine was one of four college campuses around the state to host the fifth annual Junior Achievement of Maine’s Titan Challenge business simulation, according to a Lewiston Sun Journal article. Nearly 75 Maine high school students participated in the event, which is aimed at increasing students’ understanding of the business world.

Researchers Participate In Bioplastics Council

UMaine researchers were among a group meeting this week to promote the research and development of environmentally safe and sustainable plastics, according to a report from Portland television station WGME. The Sustainable Bioplastics Council of Maine is consortium of manufacturers, agricultural groups, nonprofit organizations and university researchers, and is meeting Friday in Falmouth.
