Science Now reports on Belknap discovery

A weekend report on Science Magazine’s Science Now Web site covers a discovery by UMaine anthropology graduate student Sam Belknap.  As reported in an American Journal of Physical Anthropology article, Belknap’s discovery provides evidence of the earliest domesticated dogs in the New World.  The piece was written by Heather Pringle, a well-known science journalist who specializes in archaeology stories.  She became aware of Belknaps work when she visited UMaine last month to speak at the university’s annual Phi Kappa Phi induction ceremony.
