Overnight winter parking ban in effect
The University of Maine annual overnight winter parking is in effect, starting Nov. 1 and ending May 1.
All staff, commuter and visitor parking lots — signed in blue or black — are closed to parking everyday from midnight–6 a.m. regardless of weather.
Two lots have been identified for overnight parking during this time: Bridge Tennis Court (commuter section only) and College Ave South Parking Lot. A map is available online.
Resident parking lots — signed in red — remain open for those properly permitted. Campus community members are encouraged to inform visitors of this policy to avoid having their vehicles cited or towed.
Violators of this parking ban will be cited and/or towed at the owner’s expense. Towing services are provided by Silva’s Towing located at 679 Stillwater Ave, Old Town.
Additional information can also be found online.
Faculty and staff parking permits for 2026 are also now available for purchase. All current ’25 staff parking permits expire on Dec. 31. To order your new permit and have it mailed to your home or campus address, visit umaine.edu/parking.
Contact the parking office at um.parkingservices@maine.edu or 207.581.4047 for any questions or concerns.
