New renovations to UMaine’s Alfond Arena covered by Maine media
The University of Maine’s $50 million renovations to Alfond Arena were featured in the Bangor Daily News, Portland Press Herald, and News Center Maine. The renovations aim to create more space and modern amenities for both fans and the athletes. “What we have going on right now is special, and we want that to last forever,” said Jude Killy, director of athletics. The project is made possible by a transformational $320 million commitment from the Harold Alfond Foundation to the University of Maine System, which includes a $170 million investment in UMaine Athletics to fund the Athletics Facilities Master Plan as part of UMS TRANSFORMS.
