Martha Stewart features Singh on what not to grow next to broccoli

Martha Stewart featured Ankit K. Singh, assistant Extension professor at University of Maine Cooperative Extension, on plants that should not be grown next to broccoli in home gardens. “Tomatoes and broccoli have conflicting soil requirements. Tomatoes prefer slightly acidic soil, while broccoli thrives in neutral to slightly alkaline soil,” said Singh, also a sustainable agriculture and ornamental horticulture educator for UMaine Extension.
