WGME interviews Extension’s Dill on tick forecasts for spring

WGME (Channel 13 in Portland) interviewed Griffin Dill, integrated pest management professional at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, on what to expect for tick populations this spring. “In order for a winter to have a real impact on the tick population, as far as reducing numbers, we really need to see extended periods of time where the temperatures are single digits or below zero, and we don’t have any real substantial snow cover,” said Dill, who manages the UMaine Extension Tick Lab.
