Spectrum News reports on Hess Lab influenza physics research
Spectrum News reported on research led by professor of physics and astronomy Sam Hess that is ongoing in the University of Maine Hess Lab to find a universal treatment for the flu virus. “Each year, the flu is always a relevant virus that’s around and we don’t have a universal vaccine for it. It’s almost like we’re playing a guessing game each year, which strain is going to be the strongest that year,” said David Winski, a graduate student working with Hess.
