The Bangor Daily News, WFVX (FOX22/ABC7) and the Portland Press Herald reported on the University of Maine at Machias partnering with University of Maine at Augusta to launch the “Downeast Nursing Track,” allowing UMaine Machias students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing starting in 2025. This program enables students to complete their nursing degree on the Machias campus or online, earning both a nursing degree from UMA and a Bachelor of College Studies from UMaine Machias, addressing the growing demand for health care providers in the region.
