Fogg earns competitive scholarship for research internship opportunity with NOAA
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) named Jaime Fogg of Dedham, Maine one of its 2024 Ernest F. Hollings undergraduate scholars, granting her an opportunity to conduct research through a paid internship with the organization in summer 2025.
One of only two scholarship recipients from Maine, Fogg, a University of Maine junior majoring in marine science with a concentration in marine biology, joins 130 Hollings undergraduate scholars from 90 different campuses in 36 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C. They were selected from thousands of applicants. The scholarship provides $9,500 each year for the next two academic years, a paid internship and funding to attend two professional conferences.
More information is available on NOAA’s website.
Fogg’s application process was supported by UMaine’s Office of Major Scholarships and NOAA Hollings faculty representative William “Wge” Ellis, associate director of UMaine School of Marine Sciences.
