BDN interviews Dill on what to expect for Japanese beetle season
The Bangor Daily News interviewed Jim Dill, a University of Maine Cooperative Extension associate program administrator in pest management, on his population predictions for this season’s Japanese beetles. Dill said it could be a “banner year” based on the last two seasons, as populations have been increasing due to mild winters. The beetles damage plant leaves but won’t kill them, and they don’t spread disease, he said. WGME (CBS 13 in Portland) shared the report from the BDN.
