BDN highlights Witter Farm ‘Adopt a Cow’ program
The Bangor Daily News highlighted the “Adopt a Cow” program coming to the University of Maine’s Witter Farm for the first time during the 2024-25 school year. The program aims to reconnect schoolchildren with agriculture and create future farmers by allowing them to send letters, receive photos and make video calls to calves or cows they “adopt,” as well as participate in other agriculture-related educational activities. University students who work at the farm will also participate in the program by responding to the letters sent to their calves and taking students on tours later in the academic year.
