Press Herald, News Center cover first statewide AI conference

The Portland Press Herald and News Center Maine reported on the inaugural artificial intelligence conference hosted by the University of Maine and held at the University of Southern Maine in Portland on Friday, June 14. Leaders in business, government and academia participated in panel discussions aimed at helping the state’s businesses know how they can benefit from AI and assisting lawmakers with developing policies to ensure people can remain competitive and successful. Ali Abedi, the associate vice president for research at UMaine and director of the Center for Undergraduate Research, helped organize the event. He also chairs UMaine’s AI initiative.
