Research on PFAS contamination in wildlife featured in Press Herald
In a story about the exposure to toxic per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) among birds, the Portland Press Herald highlighted efforts by University of Maine researchers to explore the presence of these “forever chemicals” in other wildlife. “Humans made PFAS, and if we can make it, we can clean it up. It won’t be easy, but it’s a problem that we must fix,” said Dianne Kopec, faculty research fellow at UMaine’s Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions. The Sun Journal and CentralMaine.com shared the Press Herald story.
