Tick lab coordinator Dill interviewed by media on deer tick presence

University of Maine Cooperative Extension integrated pest management professional Griffin Dill was interviewed by Bangor Daily News, WGME (CBS 13 in Portland) and WFVX (Fox 22 in Bangor) on the presence of deer ticks as weather warms. Dill, who directs the UMaine Extension Tick Lab, said the lab’s tick sample intake has increased from receiving one to two ticks for testing at the beginning of January to 20 ticks on Monday, March 11. “This is the week when historically we start to see that increase in submissions,” said Dill. “We are just starting to hit that increase and start of the spring peak numbers.” Fox 23 in Portland shared the report by WGME.
