Oakes Room offering autonomous coffee, AI powered vending machines
University of Maine Dining is unveiling two fully-autonomous Costa Coffee machines and a cutting-edge VICKI vending machine during the grand opening of the Oakes Room in Fogler Library on Friday, March 8 from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
UMaine is the first location in Maine to offer two Costa Coffee machines, which will serve tea and a range of coffee beverages when the library is open. The VICKI machine is powered by artificial intelligence and provides access to UMaine Dining’s “Simply To Go” food options.
Santiago Rave and Jonathan Warren with UMaine Dining will be at the event to answer questions about the machines or UMaine Dining. Complimentary scones will be available to accompany the new coffee beverages.
