Media highlight UMaine role in state offshore wind development goal
National Fisherman, PenBay Pilot, The Maritime Executive, Mainebiz and other media reported that the University of Maine provided input on the state’s plans for developing a port facility to support the floating offshore wind industry in Maine. Reports also noted that the state’s proposed Floating Offshore Wind Research Array is expected to include 10–12 turbines on semi-submersible floating concrete platforms designed by UMaine’s Advanced Structures and Composite Center.
