Media report on first ever biobased, recyclable 3D-printed home

Decor Maine, Reasons to be Cheerful and Deutsche Welle (DW) reported that in 2023, researchers at the University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC) unveiled the first ever entirely bio-based 3D-printed home. BioHome3D is made completely out of wood fibers and bio-based resins, and is produced with very little waste. Due to the properties of the printed materials, the home could eventually be dismantled, reprocessed and reprinted multiple times without losing its structural integrity. Latestly, The Street Journal and Waste Advantage Magazine shared the DW report, and The Good Men Project shared the report from Reasons to be Cheerful.
