BDN highlights UMaine receiving gift for hazing prevention research
The Bangor Daily News highlighted the gift from the family of Sam Martinez, who died as a result of a hazing incident in 2019, to support University of Maine professor Elizabeth Allan’s research on hazing prevention. The family’s hope is that the establishment of the Sam Martinez Hazing Prevention Fund will save lives by creating more transparency around hazing and the cultures that promote it.
