Robert Talbot Civil Rights Speaker Series returns Nov. 2
The University of Maine Alumni Association and Greater Bangor Area Branch of the NAACP will host the third annual Robert Talbot Civil Rights Speaker Series at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Buchanan Alumni House.
Keynote speaker Rachel Talbot Ross, speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, will deliver a talk titled “Maine’s Path to Inclusion and Equity: Navigating the Challenges and Opportunities Ahead.” Please register to attend the event online.
Established in 2021 by the UMaine Alumni Association and Greater Bangor Area Branch NAACP, the Robert Talbot Civil Rights Speaker Series promotes dialogue and engagement to advance equality and justice. The series is named in honor of Robert “Bob” Talbot, a UMaine alumnus and the first executive director of the Maine Human Rights Commission. This year’s event is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank.
