Windpower Monthly reports on Biden administration hailing UMaine role in Gulf of Maine wind energy development
Windpower Monthly noted that Interior Secretary Deb Haaland praised the Gulf of Maine’s wind energy goals. Maine has a goal of 80% of its electricity coming from renewables by 2030. The 144MW Gulf of Maine Floating Offshore Wind Research Array, which is being developed in part by the University of Maine, is in its early planning stages and slated to come online in 2028 to help meet these goals.
