Schattman discusses McCain Foods’ solar initiative with

Rachel Schattman, a University of Maine assistant professor of sustainable agriculture, spoke with about McCain Foods’ plan to power 50% of its Easton, Maine potato processing plant with five community solar gardens, which is part of an overall effort to completely power all of its plants with renewable energy by 2030. Schattman says “Research shows us that we get the most bang for our buck by just not using as much energy and by really investing in energy efficiency and moving away from fossil fuels.”
