Policy Center accepting applications for Maine Policy Scholars Program
The Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center is now accepting applications for the Maine Policy Scholars Program for the 2022–23 academic year.
The program is a yearlong research scholarship in which a student from each of the University of Maine System universities, working closely with a faculty advisor, examines an issue of public policy relevance to Maine and delivers a final report and presentation. The program will run from May 2022–April 2023.
Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to one undergraduate student from each university in the System. An additional $1,000 is available to each recipient for research expenses.
Apply online. For more information, visit the policy center’s website.
The late Peter Cox founded the program, which is funded by the Maine Community Foundation and administered by the policy center, to engage students from the University of Maine System in the public policy process.
