News Center interviews Miles about supply chain issues affecting books
Patti Miles discussed how supply chain issues are affecting book distribution with News Center Maine. Miles, an associate professor of operations management at the Maine Business School at the University of Maine, said increased demand for durable goods, like books, and supply chain bottlenecks contribute to a decreased availability of books. “Our supply chain runs relatively smoothly, but because we have a lot of money in the economy right now with the stimulus checks, we have more disposable income,” she said.
