Governor names Fernandez, Daigneault to forest carbon task force
The Office of the Governor has announced that University of Maine faculty Ivan Fernandez and Adam Daigneault have been appointed to the Maine Forest Carbon Task Force. Forming a task force was recommended in the state’s new four-year climate action plan, Maine Won’t Wait, to guide development of a voluntary program for small-to-medium size woodland owners who want to utilize their land for carbon sequestration. Fernandez, a professor, and Daigneault, an assistant professor, are affiliated with the School of Forest Resources. The Piscataquis County Observer and Morning Ag Clips also shared the state press release.
