Media report UMS will improve COVID-19 testing
The Bangor Daily News, the Portland Press Herald, the Daily Bulldog, WMTW (Channel 8 in Portland), Maine Public, WVII (Channel 7) and WABI (Channel 5) reported that the University of Maine System will temporarily halt asymptomatic COVID-19 testing of employees and students while testing provider Shield T3 addresses technical issues and works to reduce participant wait times. UMaine will conduct pilot testing with new procedures and sample labels on Feb. 4–5, and plans to resume the full testing schedule on Feb. 8.
