Dill speaks with BDN about dealing with porcupines in yards
The Bangor Daily News interviewed Griffin Dill, an integrated pest management professional with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, about porcupines and how to prevent them from causing property damage. “Wrap a strip of 24 to 30 [inch] aluminum flashing around the trunks of individual trees to prevent porcupine access” to yards, said Dill, who also serves as Extension’s tick lab coordinator. “Keep dogs leashed or within fenced areas when outside to minimize the chance of a porcupine encounter.”
