NYT mentions UMaine in article about seismic noise reduction during pandemic

The New York Times mentioned the University of Maine in its coverage of research published in the journal Science about “the longest and most coherent global seismic noise reduction in recorded history” due to the coronavirus. The quieting, according to the researchers, resulted from social distancing, industrial shutdowns and drops in travel and tourism. Researchers also came from the Royal Observatory of Belgium, Imperial College London, University of Auckland in New Zealand, the U.S. Geological Survey, Princeton University, Stanford University, the University of Alaska and the University of California. The Baltimore Sun ran the NYT piece.
