Bangor Daily News talks with Bouchard about aquaculture
Deborah Bouchard, director of the University of Maine Aquaculture Research Institute told the Bangor Daily News that there’s a huge seafood deficit in the United States and that land-based aquaculture facilities will decrease that deficit, and increase food security. The article also cited a 2017 University of Maine Aquaculture Research Institute economic impact report that indicated in Maine, the economic impact of the aquaculture industry nearly tripled between 2007 and 2017, from $50 million to $137 million.
