Learn about best greenhouse practices March 20 in Gorham
A workshop on best greenhouse practices for new and experienced growers will be held 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 20 at O’Donal’s Nursery and Garden Center in Gorham.
The event is sponsored by University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. Presentation topics will include greenhouse heating and ventilation systems, biocontrols, overviews of production practices and plant health. Hands-on activities will range from diagnosing plant diseases and working with biocontrols, to touring the new on-site geothermal greenhouse. Speakers will include UMaine Extension specialists, the owner of O’Donal’s Nursery, and industry experts.
