Social media spotlight: Jessica Cunney

Hometown: Brewer, Maine

She studies music education and performance.

I love music, I always have. I think being in bands helped me to be able to talk with people after I was homeschooled. I want to pass that passion and encouragement to others and watch them grow as people. I like to go out with friends, go to the gym and play video games, and I work as part of the tech crew at the Collins Center for the Arts. I love UMaine because it feels like home. The faculty and staff are super supportive and want students to succeed. There’s so much to do on campus — free skate, rock climb, see movies, walk on the trails. And there’s still so much that I want to do here before I graduate.
