UMaine Extension offering smoked chicken workshop for high school students

High school students can learn how to safely prepare smoked chicken at the next University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H Science Saturday, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Oct. 28 at UMaine’s J.F. Witter Teaching and Research Center in Old Town.

Participants will learn how to safely prepare and cook whole chicken in a home smoker, and about food safety and nutrition. The workshop concludes with a smoked barbecue chicken lunch.

The event is open to students in grades nine through 12. Maximum number of participants is 20; minimum is eight.
