Two students awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad

Two University of Maine students have been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad during the spring 2017 semester.

Paden Stanton, an international affairs major, was awarded the scholarship to study abroad in India. Tessali Morrison, a chemistry major, will study in Spain.

Stanton and Morrison, who are both from Maine, were among 850 American undergraduate students from 359 colleges and universities across the U.S. selected to receive the award. Gilman scholars receive up to $5,000 to apply toward their study abroad or internship program costs.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education. More information about the program is online.
