LGBTQ Services to receive award from EqualityMaine

The work of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Services at the University of Maine will be recognized with the Community Partner Award of EqualityMaine.

The award, given to businesses and organizations that go above and beyond in the service of equality, will be presented to UMaine Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Robert Dana and Crissi Dalfonzo, a graduate assistant in LGBTQ Services, at the Bangor Community Holiday Celebration Dec. 9.

The mission of LGBTQ Services is to empower and increase the visibility of LGBTQ people by promoting equality and inclusiveness at UMaine. LGBTQ Services strives to maintain an open, safe and supportive environment for all students, staff, faculty and alumni and provides educational opportunities, information and advocacy services.
