UMaine Museum of Art seeks designers for fashion challenge, WVII reports
WVII (Channel 7) reported the University of Maine Museum of Art is seeking designers to take part in a fashion challenge, similar to the Bravo TV show, “Project Runway.” The competition calls for each team — a designer and model — to create and display two outfits on the runway that were inspired by works displayed at the museum, according to the report. “You can make it out of any material that you want,” said Kat Johnson, UMMA education coordinator. “As long as it stays on the model and looks great, it’s innovative, creative and inspired by the work of art in the gallery or the permanent collection.” The fashion show and dance party is scheduled for July 23 in the museum’s sculpture garden, the report states.
