BDN reports on book by Schmitt

The Bangor Daily News published an article about “The President’s Salmon: Restoring the King of Fish and Its Home Waters,” a book written by Catherine Schmitt, communications director for Maine Sea Grant College Program at the University of Maine. The book, which was released by Down East Books in 2015, Schmitt traces the Penobscot River’s past from the post-glacial era to the present day, and explains how humans harnessed that river for their own needs, often at the expense of the Atlantic salmon, the article states.
