Fosters.com advances beginner beekeeping school in Springvale

Fosters.com reported the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Maine State Beekeepers Association will offer a five-week Beginner Bee School, 6–8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 2–30, at Anderson Learning Center in Springvale. Participants will learn about bee colonies, hive construction, pests and diseases, and honey production. They also may observe area hives and gain hands-on experience during a field lab. Cost is $95 per person, $140 for two people who share materials, and includes a one-year membership in the York County Beekeepers Association. Feb. 26 is the deadline to register.
