Morning Ag Clips advances harvest preservation workshop

Morning Ag Clips reported the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a workshop on preserving the late summer harvest from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 29, at UMaine Extension in Waldo County, 992 Waterville Road, Waldo. Participants will take part in hands-on USDA-recommended food preservation methods and learn about the latest and safest recipes and equipment to ensure food safety, according to the report. Participants, who are asked to bring a pot holder, will receive a food preservation packet and a jar of salsa or jam to take home, the article states. The $15 fee includes all materials.
