Guide Highlights Resources for Veteran-to-Farmer Training

University of Maine Cooperative Extension has published a bulletin that highlights training and education resources for military veterans to develop farming skills as they transition back into civilian life.

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, as well as UMaine Extension, created the guide about agricultural, forestry and other natural resource training programs approved under GI Bill benefits. Tori Jackson, Extension associate professor of agriculture and natural resources, and Stephanie Gilbert, farm viability and farmland protection specialist, Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, co-authored the bulletin.
