In a Bangor Daily News report on the rise in robberies at Maine pharmacies, Marcella Sorg, who directs the drug and alcohol research program at UMaine’s Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center, said as efforts to rein in prescription drug abuse succeed, addicts find other ways, such as pharmacy robberies, to get the medications they seek.
