Markowsky Cybersecurity Tutorial To be Featured at Conference
University of Maine Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science George Markowsky’s tutorial on cybersecurity tools is one of the featured tutorials at WorldComp’12, an international conference held in Las Vegas for computer science, computer engineering and applied computing that is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants from all around the world. The tutorial, which he will conduct on Monday, July 16, will introduce participants to key cybersecurity tools and give participants basic experience with the tools. Markowsky teaches cybersecurity at UMaine and runs in the Cybersecurity Lab and coaches the Cyber Defense Team. He is also the director of the 2012 Northeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition, which will be held at UMaine in March 2013. Go to the WorldComp’12 website for more information.
