Maine and national media picked up Monday’s announcement by UMaine athletics director Steve Abbott that Richard Barron, an assistant coach at N.C. State, has been hired to coach the UMaine women’s basketball team. The Portland Press Herald had a story and Bangor television station WABI (Channel 5) also ran a story.
