Free Admission Continues at Art Museum
The Bangor Daily News reports that the generosity of Machias Savings Bank will allow for free admission practices to continue at the UMaine Museum of Art in downtown Bangor. A new gift, in memory of the late UMaine benefactor Edward “Ted” Leonard, will extend free admission through 2011. This represents an extension of Machias Savings Bank’s original donation for this purpose in 2008. Since that time, the number of museum visitors has increased 227 percent.
