Extension cited as soil science resource in Press Herald column
The Portland Press Herald published an op-ed that cited technical support for healthy soils initiatives offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. The authors are advocating for passage of LD-437, An Act To Create the Maine Healthy Soils Program, which would elevate the work of UMaine Extension. The Associated Press and WABI (Channel 5) also reported on introduction of the bill and the proposed role of UMaine Extension in advising the program’s administrators. WGAN Newsradio, MSN, Morning Ag Clips, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Houston Chronicle shared the AP story.
