UMaine study cited in debate over cruise ship passenger limits
The Mount Desert Islander mentioned an ongoing study by University of Maine Professor of Economics Todd Gabe in its coverage of the debate in Bar Harbor over a proposal to increase cruise ship passenger limits on certain “trial dates” in 2018. Members of the city’s town council denied the request in a split vote on Tuesday. Gabe is currently conducting a study that measures the economic impact of cruise ship visits to the region.
