Spectrum News interviews Laatsch on data possibilities of upcoming eclipse
Versant Power Astronomy Center Director Shawn Laatsch was interviewed by Spectrum News on the importance of gathering data on the sun during the April 8 solar eclipse. Since the moon will fully block the sun, Laatsch said the eclipse is an opportunity to observe the sun’s corona, the origin of solar winds and flares. “It’s important for us to understand it because the solar wind and solar weather affects our planet,” he said.
